Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Wildland Firefighters. As a Wildland Firefighter, you will play a crucial role in preventing and suppressing wildfires to protect lives, property, and natural resources.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to wildland fires and emergency incidents
- Construct fire lines, clear brush, and extinguish flames using hand tools and equipment
- Operate pumps, hoses, and other firefighting tools
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure personal and team safety
- Conduct fire prevention activities such as controlled burns and vegetation management
Qualifications:
- Minimum age 18
- Must be able to pass a state background check
- Physically fit enough to endure potentially uneven, steep terrain, and long hours standing
- OR state EMT or above receives $1/hour additional wage
- Ability to perform heavy lifting in rugged terrain
- Must Possess a state issued Driver's License, able to be insurable on District vehicles
- Be certified NWCG Firefighter 2 prior to start working.
- CPR certification recommended
District will provide training (online and hands on) to facilitate NWCG certification to FF2 level, if not current on certification.
