Cashier Job Description and Duties:
The Market Cashier is responsible for processing cash, debit, credit and check transactions, using a cash register or other point-of-sale system in a retail environment. They will set up equipment and supplies, display and sell market merchandise, and sell market tokens. The Cashier is responsible to answer or direct questions to the market manager. They report weekly to the market treasurer and board president. The Market Cashier is responsible for maintaining positive impressions with market patrons and vendors. The Cashier must be honest and accurate in all transactions and receipts. Errors must be corrected quickly and reported to the treasurer.
Cashier duties and responsibilities include:
Cashier hours will be 7:00am-1:30pm at the market and additional time off-site to verify tokens and prepare the weekly vendor redemption report for the treasurer. This must be emailed no later than the Wednesday following a market. It is anticipated a total of 10-12 hours a week at $20/hour. Hours will be submitted to the treasurer with the vendor redemption report.
