Morrison Home Health Care Agency is Hiring a PCA Personal Care Assistant Near Newport, VA
Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals who require help with daily activities. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for our clients by promoting their independence and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide assistance with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning and laundry
- Accompany clients to medical appointments or social outings
- Engage in meaningful conversations and provide emotional support
- Document client progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervisor
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy
- Reliable transportation to travel to client locations
