The Electrical Design Team Lead is an integral member of the design team, responsible for overseeing the delivery of all electrical design projects of varying size and complexity. As the Electrical Team Lead, you will work on some of the most sophisticated and coveted projects in the industry, providing integrated solutions for technically complex issues. As the Electrical Design Team Lead, you should possess a sincere care for clients, an ability to effectively engage in a team atmosphere with kindness and compassion and strong business acumen with a solutions orientation. You will play a key role in assisting our clients in all phases of the design process, from functional planning and conceptual layout through to detailed design and construction support. Responsibilities: Contributes to the development of concepts and principles to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways Prepares contract drawings and specifications in conjunction with project team for delivery to client Documents study progress/results through the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events Provides direction to project team members and support staff through verbal and written instructions and assigns work to appropriate individuals Serves small to midsize team of engineers, developing clear, actionable career development plans, performing regular performance reviews Liaises with clients to exchange information (project progress) and acts as the primary client contact Provides technical oversight Conducts business development activities to secure new projects by client liaison and proposal preparation Prepares site visit reports by interpreting findings to give clear recommendations and direction to clients Reviews shop drawings and design details by analyzing for continuity and viability Certifies professional work Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent PE registration required Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical systems, specifically related to mission critical, industrial, hospitality or commercial buildings, preferably in the consulting engineering industry Proven leadership skills and ability to engage and grow a team Experience in project management preferred Experience with quality control and production scheduling is preferred - ability to liaise with clients and contractors Job Type: Regular Job Profile: For internal use Buildings Electrical Engineering V Morrison Hershfield is committed to having an inclusive and diverse workforce, with recruitment free of discrimination, ensuring all candidates are given a fair opportunity for employment.
