DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The EMS Instructor II is the health care professional responsible for planning, coordinating, and organizing MHEMSS (Morris Hospital EMS System) Instruction services and programs. The EMS Instructor II is an employee of MHEMSS, and works collaboratively with the MHEMSS Medical Director, the MHEMSS Administrative Manager and the pre-hospital agencies and providers associated with MHEMSS to ensure quality pre-hospital education of students is accomplished.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional/Educational
Currently licensed Registered Nurse and/or Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic in the State of Illinois required.
Completion of Healthcare Provider (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (or Pediatric Emergencies for Pre-hospital Professionals) required. Basic Trauma Life Support & Basic Life Support at a provider level required within one year of hire date, and instructor preferred.
Two years field experience as Paramedic required; five years preferred.
Thoroughly knowledgeable about and able to demonstrate all skills including extrication as presented in the EMT initial training program at all levels required.
