Morongo Band of Mission Indians is Hiring a Reading Specialist Near Banning, CA
- Work individually with staff members and collectively with multiple grade levels, to improve instructional practices in ELA.
- Provide instructional leadership and support that is focused on exploring and using promising practices for implementing school frameworks, standards, and instructional and social emotional programs.
- Create, provide, arrange and participate in professional learning opportunities through PLCs, workshops, seminars, demonstrations, publications and other means.
- Assist teachers through peer coaching, classroom observations, and peer feedback on effective instructional effectiveness and support strategies in support of all students, especially those in targeted student groups.
- Assist teachers in establishing appropriate instructional objectives, assessing student progress, and selecting suitable instructional materials, including technology, that are aligned Morongo School goals and initiatives.
- Demonstrate culturally responsive and technology rich lessons and conduct classroom observations in support of a variety of teaching and learning approaches.
- Provide support to teachers in monitoring student achievement and planning classroom interventions to meet the needs of all students.
- Assist in articulation of instruction among various grade levels and departments.
- Work with administrators to develop and implement all aspects of the site's Single Plan for Student Achievement; discuss student achievement data; and support a school climate that promotes the work of professional learning communities.
- Work with Educational Services team to plan and implement professional development through training and coaching for teachers to: increase their knowledge of instructional strategies; effectively implement best practices; present demonstrations of lessons; use adopted curriculum materials for effective initial instruction; use data from benchmark and curriculum-embedded assessments to improve instruction; and use common collaboration protocols to analyze data and to improve instruction.
- Work cooperatively with other instructional coaches and administrators to achieve a coordinated instructional program.
- Actively participate in professional meetings, required trainings, and weekly school learning/support sessions
- Participate actively in all Professional Development sessions, including committee meetings, practice-based PD, and intellectual preparation sessions.
- Possession of a clear multiple subject or single subject teaching credential.
- Expertise data driven instruction & establishing intervention programs
- Knowledge of and success in promoting instructional techniques and creative approaches that result in improved learning for all students.
- Unwaveringly high expectations for all students with the belief that every child should have access to a rigorous education.
- An "all hands-on deck" mentality and willingness to do whatever it takes to build and maintain an achievement driven student culture and positive, professional staff culture.
- Minimum five years of teaching preferred.
