Job Summary

This position is part time (3-5:30pm) Monday- Friday.

We are a Christian daycare/preschool looking for a classroom teacher with childcare experience with ages 6 weeks to 5 years. You must be able to execute the schedule and curriculum for Morning Star Academy. Greet and communicate with parents in relation to their child. Assume weekly management of room duties. Be patient, kind and have an enthusiastic personality.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

• Function as room leader or assistant leader.
• Make sure room is clean, stocked and in order.
• Oversee classroom (keep class on schedule, make sure diapers are changed, kids go to bathroom, etc.)
• Implement curriculum in your classroom.
• Verify the child has been checked in
• Verify approved pickups by checking Brightwheel and ID's at pick up
• Facilitate group activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with children and parents.
• Take attendance of children.
• Follow the Morning Star Academy NPR guidelines regarding the student to teacher ratio.
• Follow state guidelines for sanitation requirements in rooms.
• Be flexible in every aspect of the job.
• Greet parents and children. Learn their names and use them often.
• Friend visits are not acceptable.
• Always leave a room better than you found it.
• Be aware of emergency evacuation. routes and procedures.

Absenteeism

• In the event you are going to be absent, you must notify the director immediately.
• Time off should be requested two weeks in advance of absence.

Applicants must be able to pass a background check, physical, and TB test.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 15 per week
