The salary range for this position is $133,046 - $174,192.
We are looking for a Staff Software Test Engineer to help build the test automation infrastructure required to validate the functionality of our quantum computers. Never worked in quantum computing before? It's much like a system for a robot, managing feedback loops at various time scales between sensors and actuators to create a precisely tuned environment where we can perform high fidelity quantum computations. In this role, you'll help:
Responsibilities:
* Lead, design, architect, and develop test infrastructure for complex software and hardware systems.
* Develop and execute on comprehensive test plans for the quantum system.
* Assist in the career development of others, providing mentorship on advanced technical issues.
* Collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary staff.
* Help us continuously improve how we do things.
You'll be able to balance technical expertise and savvy with strong business judgment to make great technology choices. You'll strive for simplicity and demonstrate significant creativity and incisive judgment.
You'd be a good fit with:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience -- nontraditional backgrounds are welcome here.
* 5 years experience writing test automation in Python and Python test frameworks like Pytest or equivalent.
* Experience with embedded systems, including FPGAs, Petalinux, or Yocto.
* Excellent engineering skills in a few key areas:
* Writing, testing, and debugging multithreaded programs.
* Operating, testing, and debugging distributed systems, with some understanding of technologies like Kubernetes.
* Using and/or deploying Linux-based operating systems.
* Interfacing with hardware via Ethernet, USB, serial, SCPI, etc.
* Working knowledge of Rust, Go, C .
* Experience with digital signal processing validation and verification
* Comfortable with disassembling and reassembling server class hardware and electrical / RF test equipment in a lab environment.
* Strong interest in Quantum Computing and/or Quantum Physics.
You'd be a great fit with:
* 7 years of test automation.
* Experience automating embedded systems testing.
* Experience automating waveform validation using oscilloscopes and other engineering test equipment.
* Experience with CI and CD automation, including handling hardware setup and teardown across varieties of different subsystems.
* Experience working with Go and/or Rust in a production environment.
