Morgan Stanley’s Securitized Products Group (SPG) contains several Trading Businesses (Agency MBS, residential mortgage loans, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, and other ABS), a lending arm that focuses on traditional Commercial Real Estate as well as Warehouse (FID Secured Lending “FSL”), and a CUSIP financing business. This is a complex and growing portfolio of businesses within Morgan Stanley that serve a wide range of clients to execute on their business strategies. The Middle Market product group within Secured Lending provides financial solutions to leading middle market private credit originators.

The Asset Approval Team within the Direct Lender Financing FSL group is looking for experienced Analyst to Associate level candidates to join the team. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration internally with client coverage and structuring teams to execute and close Direct Lender Financing facilities
  • Ongoing servicing and management of lending facilities by reviewing, approving and communicating underlying loan and collateral approvals to external clients
  • Review and value underlying loan collateral
  • Creation of internal presentation materials reviewing leveraged finance metrics and reporting to various internal committees to demonstrate market environment for private credit
  • Communicate internally and with syndicate partners our view of client investment strategy and collateral pool statistics

Qualifications - External

  • Experience working in corporate finance, accounting, or a valuation firm is necessary
  • Completion of a formal credit training program with a reputable investment/commercial bank is preferred
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive worker with the ability to work as part of a close-knit team as well as independently
  • High level of initiative, motivation, attention to detail, positive attitude, and the ability to work in a project or deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent desktop application skills: Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Minimum education qualification is a Bachelor's degree

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $115,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
