MORGAN COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-3

POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:

Teacher On Special Assignment (TOSA) - Administrative Support @ Sherman Early Childhood

POSITION SUMMARY:

The TOSA position is intended as a one-year contract position, with no guarantee of continuing beyond the 2024-2025 school year. If a current Morgan County School District Re-3 employee is chosen for this TOSA position, the school district will guarantee that the district employee is assured a position for the 2025-2026 school year if continuing employment in the TOSA position has not been offered by the district, and the employee remains in good standing within the school district. In this event, the current district employee may return to the same position vacated, if it remains unfilled, or to a position similar in nature that he/she is qualified for.

The following list of responsibilities is intended to give prospective applicants a clear idea of expectations for the TOSA position. It is not intended to be inclusive, as other appropriate duties may also be assigned:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the building principal in all administrative duties of the school
  • Assist in student discipline
  • Effective and efficient communication with parents/guardians
  • Support instructional initiatives within the building
  • Support instructional staff with classroom management strategies
  • Attend and lead professional development
  • Supervision duties as necessary
  • Provide district assessment support at the building level
  • Evaluate classified personnel
  • Observe and/or Evaluate certified staff (must hold principal licensure)
  • Evaluate student data and develop strategies to address academic needs
  • Work closely with the building Instructional Coach to develop PD activities, support instruction and curriculum implementation
  • Aid in master scheduling
  • Support/Mentor Paraprofessionals on effective instructional support within the classroom

Salary and Benefits:

The TOSA position will be compensated at appropriate experience and educational levels on the Certified Salary Schedule.

TOSA Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid and active teaching license as defined by the Colorado Department of Education
  • Optional: hold a valid and active Administrative/Principal license as defined by the Colorado Department of Education
  • Optional: enrolled in and actively pursuing an Educational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction degree program leading to Principal Licensure
