Overview

Responsible for locating and maintaining the best sources of supply for the components, materials and services required across Morgan Thermal Ceramics - EMEA. Considering all aspects of relationships with suppliers, including quality, value and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements. Select suppliers that can act as long-term partners and help the company meet its growth objectives, and delivering the expected cost reduction of the year.

Responsibilities

Procurement

  • Ensure materials, products and services are delivered on time to support all locations.
  • The procurement of materials & components as required by use of the ERP system
  • Negotiation and development of contracts within the purchasing team
  • Supplier performance management
  • Develop & strengthen relationships with suppliers and internal departments
  • Actively participate with Sales and Project and be accountable for purchasing deliveries Person Specification of the Senior Buyer

Financial Results

  • Build & maintain relationships with key suppliers including contract management and payment terms, to ensure improvements in cost quality and delivery,

 Business Development

  • Act as the procurement lead for new business development with respect to sourcing and negotiating terms for bought-in products and services.
  • Coordinate the procurement of all plants and equipment with all stakeholders to maximise cost avoidance and negotiate best value for Thermal Ceramics – EMEA.

Qualifications

  • Experience in indirect/MRO category management
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • The ability to communicate articulately and effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Experience of operating MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programmes.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Persuasive
  • Self-motivated and energetic.
  • Positive attitude.
