Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as a Clinical Research Coordinator ( CRC ). The successful candidate will manage all aspects of oncology clinical research studies, including recruitment, screening, enrollment, and data collection.
The CRC will work with the principal investigators, clinical faculty/staff, and the clinical research team to approach, educate, and obtain informed consent from all eligible patients. This position is also responsible for supporting the development of oncology protocols and training new team members. The CRC will work as part of a productive, collaborative research team that complies with all regulatory, institutional, and departmental requirements and will educate and consent patients in outpatient clinics under minimal supervision.
DUTIES PERFORMED BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Coordinate and manage clinical research studies related to oncology
Ensure that all study protocols are followed, and all regulatory requirements are met
Recruit, screen, and enroll patients for clinical trials
Collect and manage study data, including patient medical histories, laboratory test results, and adverse event reports
Demonstrates an ability to read and understand components of a participant's medical history as appropriate to eligibility for various oncology studies
Maintain accurate and up-to-date study records and documentation
Communicate with study sponsors, investigators, and other stakeholders
Prepare and submit study reports, including progress reports and final study reports
Participate in on-going quality assurance and control processes, record maintenance and preparation of records for internal or external sponsored audits and site visits.
Plan and participate in audits as well as monitor visits with external partners and/or affiliates. Assist in the development of study budgets and manage study-related expenses.
Ensure that all study-related equipment and supplies are available and in good working order. Participate in the development of new research protocols.
Must be comfortable talking to patients, physicians, health care providers, and researchers.
Must have the ability to communicate with patients effectively and sensitively with cancer while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Biology, Health Sciences or related field and a minimum of 2 years of clinical and research experience, preferably in oncology.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic data capture systems.
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice ( GCP ) and other regulatory requirements for clinical research.
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed as a practical nurse ( LPN ) and two years of clinical research experience in oncology.
