This position requires a willingness to learn, a genuine desire to help others and a natural understanding of the effects of addiction on an individual. CADC's work directly with clients to provide counseling and help them develop healthy coping mechanisms.

• Help individuals and families with an addiction to alcohol, drugs, or another substance.
• Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling to patients.
• Refer patients to appropriate community organizations and outside programs.
• Explain addiction and its effects on the family.
• Identify issues and create goals and treatment plans.
• Counsel patients on social issues including housing, employment, education, family issues and basic living skills.
• Counsel individuals or families affected by substance abuse.
