Job Summary:
Moran Utility Services, Inc. is one of the premier dry utility design and consulting firms in Southern California. We serve many of Orange County’s largest developers and engineering firms. We are currently seeking an experienced Designer/Drafter for a full-time position in our Orange County or North San Diego County office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the utility, civil, electrical, or energy engineering industries.
Responsibilities will include AutoCAD preparation of dry utility composite plans, SCE applicant designs, and other miscellaneous client required exhibits. Additional responsibilities will include base file organization and maintenance, translation of red-lined designs into AutoCAD format complying with utility companies’ standards. You will also prepare and transfer electronic files as needed in addition to interpreting various electronic files, and compiling and manipulating data to provide complete and thorough drawings. Experience working with third parties base files and xrefs desired.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, proactive, self-starter with experience in a relevant industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. A good understanding of electric, telecommunications, and/or gas utility companies’ design standards and requirements are highly desirable. Must have the ability to work as a team member and effectively interact with internal and external clients, peers, supervisors, and utilities’ representatives.
