Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong knowledge of veterinary practices. As a Veterinary Technician, you will assist veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of animal health problems, contribute to patient care, and enhance the quality of services provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians in performing various medical procedures and surgeries.
• Prepare animals for exams and surgeries, ensuring that they are calm and secure.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Perform laboratory tests, such as blood tests, urinalysis, and x-rays.
• Educate and advise pet owners on pet health, care, and wellness.
• Maintain clean and sanitized equipment and facilities.
• Keep detailed records of animal care, treatment plans, and progress.
• Handle various administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and processing payments.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a veterinary hospital or animal clinic is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with an ability to educate pet owners effectively.
• Compassionate and patient, with an ability to handle stress and emotional situations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Be able to bend down for 10 minutes.
• Be able to kneel for 3-10 minutes.
• Be able to lift at least 40lbs from the floor to above your waist without help.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
