Family, Friends, and Fun is our motto at Moorhead Country Club, and we’re looking for an energetic and motivated employee to join our management team as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. This is a full-time, year-round position.
Moorhead Country Club is a private, 18-hole golf course with a driving range, 3 practice greens and a short-hole chipping area. Moorhead Country was established in 1937 and is a classic style golf course with big mature trees nestled on the banks of the Red River in the metropolitan area of Fargo/Moorhead with an estimated population of 250,000. MCC has exhibited tremendous growth in membership in the last few years and is currently at capacity with a waiting list. MCC completed a $1.3 million-dollar major renovation creating a new and exciting back nine eliminating any possibility of flooding. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and Equipment Manager on all golf course related decisions, where your input and ideas are valued and encouraged. Moorhead Country Club has a newer fleet of Toro equipment, new Toro VP satellites, and are always looking to add and upgrade our equipment fleet.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Scheduling, training, supervision of the seasonal staff.
- Proper calibration, mixing, and application of chemicals and fertilizers, both dry and liquid.
- Scheduling, maintenance, and repair of a Toro irrigation system with new VP Satellites and Lynx irrigation software.
- Tree trimming and removal
- Assist with daily course operations.
- Aid in the planning and completion of course upgrades and construction projects.
- Participate in club capital purchases and budgeting.
- Other miscellaneous duties.
Requirements:
- Certificate, Two, or four-year degree in Turf Management, Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Agronomy of closely related field.
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain Minnesota Department of Agriculture non-commercial pesticide applicators license category A & E within 60 days of hire.
- Strong work ethic, highly organized, positive attitude, motivated, energetic leader, with a high attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license

Salary: starting at $53,000-$60,000 depending on experience.
