JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain all equipment on site. Work with other maintenance personnel when called upon. Assist as needed in assembly and disassembly of temporary exhibits. Respond to all maintenance emergency situations.
POSITION AUTHORITY:
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.
POSITION GUIDELINES:
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
A self-motivated, mechanically inclined person with some hands-on experience of electrical, and HVAC systems. Must be self-reliant and responsible. Any combination of experience, or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High school diploma preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must have good mechanical abilities. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work inside or outside as required. Temperature extremes would vary as they would outside throughout the year. Inside work would normally be air-conditioned but may have to work in a 40 degree cooler or 90 degree boiler room. These extremes would be infrequent. Loud noise will be common, will be working in mechanical rooms. Will be working around moving parts, electrical currents, chemicals, etc. (PPE is supplied for these conditions.) Must be emotionally mature, have a cooperative attitude and be in good physical health.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Communication – in person, on a two way radio or over a phone
Listening – hearing noise from mechanical equipment
Good eyesight – able to read color coding, small print and objects
Walking – 6 hours day
Standing in one spot – 1 hour at a time
Balance – have good equilibrium
Climbing – ladders and scaffolding frequently
Lifting – up to 50 lbs as necessary
Pushing/pulling – occasionally as necessary up to 100 lbs
Crouching – occasionally as necessary
Reaching – occasionally as necessary
