Moody Family YMCA is Hiring an Athletic Performance Specialist: Young Athletes Moody YMCA Near Dallas, TX

The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is currently taking applications for an Athletic Performance Specialist. The Athletic Performance Specialist will help develop youth from 9-12 years of age using our Training Program. Our program gives young athletes the potential to improve their sports performance and reduce the risk for injury. As the APS you should be able to inspire and motivate athletes as they prepare to go into their next season. Must hold nationally recognized personal training or strength and conditioning certificate from at least one of the following groups: YMCA of the USA, AFAA, ACE, CIAR, PTAG, NASM, or NETA. The candidate should have a passion for sports and developing young athletes; be able to conduct a dynamic and engaging group training session; keep a friendly and positive relationship with each client; master and follow the YMCA’s sports specific training program and provide individual modification where necessary to prevent injury.

Requirements:

Applicant should be a dynamic, highly motivating, and energetic relationship builder with strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be committed to the YMCA mission and dedicated to serving our members through our fitness programs; must be able to articulate the YMCA mission and core values to YMCA members and perspective members; must be able to demonstrate proper form, technique, and body alignment on all strength and cardiovascular machines; must be able to evaluate a constantly changing environment for safety and to ensure that members’ needs are being met; must be well-organized, reliable, punctual, and professional; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Must be mentally alert to recognize potential hazards and accidents and both physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and perform CPR and/or First Aid. Must hold a current nationally recognized personal training certification or strength and conditioning certificate from one of the following groups: YMCA of the USA, AFAA, NASM, ACE, CIAR, PTAG or NETA. Must also complete required safety trainings including CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Child Abuse Prevention as well as YMCA of the USA Healthy Lifestyle Principles (trainings are provided by the YMCA). Current required certifications and trainings are the responsibility of the employee.

Availability:

Candidate should be available afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 8 per week
