DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the assessment of behavior needs of identified students
• Identify the appropriate conflict and problem-solving skills
• Design and follow-up with student behavior contracts
• Conference with parents related to behavioral and academic concerns
• Utilize therapeutic counseling strategies with individuals and families
• Provide direct counseling to individual students and their families
• Develop functional behavior assessment
• Work district-wide in assigned school(s) - must provide own transportation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Alabama Teacher's Certification, Bachelor's Degree or higher in agency counseling or a related field
• Experience in counseling and assessment of behavior
• At least three (3) successful years of teaching or service in a related counseling field
