Teacher - Gifted Resource

The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for a Gifted Resource teacher position that may be available in the division for the school year 2024-2025.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Gifted Resource teacher serves students throughout the division and coordinates the identification and placement of gifted students; provides support for the classroom teacher in development and delivery of differentiated curriculum; and works directly with gifted students. The Gifted Resource teacher uses a collaborative model in working with the principals and teachers to provide services to the students and is a member of a cadre of teachers who conduct staff development sessions on gifted identification, curriculum, and instruction at the school and division levels.
Qualifications:
Hold a Virginia teacher’s license with an endorsement in elementary or secondary education
Have a minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience working with gifted and high ability students
Have experience in curriculum development and lesson planning
Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Have experience fostering an inclusive learning environment
Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with a team of other teachers
Ability to be dependable and punctual
Preferred Qualifications:
Possess an endorsement in gifted education
