05/31/2024 A vacancy exists for a School Counselor to work at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit within the Office of Student Services. This position will support our new Pathways to Empowerment Emotional Support program and work with students from various backgrounds, including students who have experienced school failure, students identified as in need of special education and students with severe behavioral and emotional challenges.
Qualifications:

• Valid PA Certification in School Counseling PK-12 required.
• Valid PA licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) preferred
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by MCIU upon hire).

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Experience with a school-age population preferred.
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by MCIU upon hire).

Location:
The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and provide services to students in School Age K-12 and Non-Pub classrooms located throughout Montgomery County, PA. Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 10 months (194 days/year)
2024-2025 Salary:
Bachelor’s, Step 1: $52,572/year
Master’s, Step 1: $63,582/year
Master's 30, Step 1: $70,570/year
*Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master’s Degree.
