    Montgomery County Intermediate Unit #23 The Director of Technology Services is responsible for all operations of the MCIU's Office of Technology and Information Services division. This includes administration and supervision of staff and infrastructure to provide high quality, cost-effective internet services, repair and on-site technology services, distance-learning and other technology services, as well as representing MCIU on local and state advisory councils and facilitating special projects.
    Qualifications:
    To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.
    • Minimum of MS Degree in appropriate field; Doctorate preferred.
    • Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience, including 5-7 years at a leadership level
    • Expertise (includes one of more of the following):
      • Oversight of staff
      • Responsibility of IU or Office-Level Budget
      • Frequently interfaces with Board, Customers, and Stakeholders
    • Project management experience, including good organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and technology skills.
    • Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work under stress.
    • Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
    Essential Duties:
    • Direct and coordinate all services offered by the Office of Technology.
    • Develop and implement operating procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Office of Technology.
    • Supervise all Office of Technology personnel.
    • Supervise all operations of the Office of Technology.
    • Provide leadership to Office of Technology staff with competent personnel to ensure efficient operations.
    • Assist IU and districts in evaluation of technology-related materials and equipment.
    • Prepare and manage the Office of Technology budget.
    • Conduct Technology and Information Services Division orientation programs for member districts and other clients.
    • Provide consultant services pertaining to the selection and utilization of technology equipment and materials.
    • Maintain liaison between Technology and Information Services Division and its Advisory Board, Chief School Administrators, the Department of Education and the Intermediate Unit Board of Directors.
    • Maintain liaison between Technology and Information Services Division and member districts and clients.
    • Approve all Office of Technology purchases and payments and recommend these to the Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Director for final Intermediate Unit Board approval.
    • Develop immediate and long-range technology and information plans based upon needs of member districts.
    • Investigate and recommend new services or operations for the Office of Technology.
    • Prepare all reports, forms, program descriptions, technology plans and other MCIU documents requested by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
    • Provide leadership for the Technology and Information Services Advisory Council.
    • Provide leadership as member of all Technology and Information Services Division Advisory Board Committees.
    • Attend all regularly scheduled Intermediate Unit Board meetings.
    • Provide leadership in integrating technology into MCIU and school district operations.
    • Provide districts with ongoing, relevant technological information and support.
    • Analyze and provide solutions on information/data management and technology needs for MCIU and school districts.
    • Assure adequate, cost effective levels of information management and technology systems to meet internal and district needs as requested.
    • Oversee planned acquisition, maintenance and upgrading of information management and technology hardware and software for MCIU.
    • Consult with internal and external users to develop information management and technology systems.
    • Consult with internal and external users regarding creation and support of data systems.
    • Assign and ensure efficient schedule for staff.
    • Assume additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director..
    Location:
    The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA.
    Work Schedule:
    Monday-Friday, 7.0 hours/day, 12 months (261 days/year)
    Salary:
    $126,903/year - $171,692/year
