About the Position:
In an Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN) role, the Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) for the Mobile Health Clinic within DHHS’ Public Health Services, will provide person-centered direct primary care, comprehensive nursing, therapeutic and preventive health care services to uninsured or underinsured Montgomery County seniors, adults, and children who are being served by the mobile health and human services unit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work involves standing and bending in the assessment and treatment of clients and some lifting, carrying or moving of objects weighing up to fifty pounds or using equivalent forces. While conducting physical examinations and directly related work, the Nurse Practitioner is exposed to body fluids, human waste, sharps, etc. Such exposure requires use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and mouth/nose/eye protection and application of an array of standardized protocols and procedures such as standard/additional precautions for contact with such communicable diseases as hepatitis, TB, STDs and HIV/AIDS to minimize risk to self and persons in their care.
This nurse will need to operate a motor vehicle to drive to locations throughout the County to perform duties and transport supplies. The is a community-based role and will require weekday evening hours as well as weekend day and evening hours.
This position requires basic bilingual proficiency in the Spanish/English language. The candidate selected will be required to pass a language proficiency exam assessing oral communication, reading comprehension, interpreting from Spanish to English and vice versa.
The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment medical exam and drug and alcohol screening.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time equivalent post-licensure experience as a Registered Nurse; two (2) years of these 3 years must have been as a family nurse practitioner and one (l) year of these 2 years must have been in community health nursing.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent program as determined by the Maryland Board of Nursing, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master's Degree in Public Health, Community Health Nursing or other appropriate nursing specialty; and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the Master’s Degree or for the required experience, but not for the successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program.

There is no Preferred Criteria. All applicants will be reviewed by OHR for minimum qualifications. Those applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be rated Qualified, placed on the Eligible List, and may be considered for an interview.
