Director of the Montco Cultural Center
Reports to: Chief of Staff
FLSA Status: Exempt

Basic Purpose:
As a member of the President’s Office staff, the Director of the Montco Cultural Center supports the mission of the College by developing programming and initiatives that create a diverse and inclusive learning and work environment for all members of the College community and county. The director advances the president’s strategic priorities of expanding community participation through internal and external partnerships that create opportunities for engagement of arts and culture at the College. The director is also responsible for all major College events sponsored through the Office of the President.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops collaborative educational arts activities for diverse audiences such as performances, exhibitions, workshops, internships, master classes, lectures, camps, and special events in a collaborative manner with internal and external stakeholders within budgeted expectations.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and updates the Montco Cultural Center’s 3-year strategic plan with annual operational plans that align to the College’s mission, strategic priorities, and annual goals. Determines ticket pricing strategy cost sharing, rentals, and discounts that are advantageous toward increased revenue.
  • Manages use of facilities by internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality operations. Oversees internal and external usage and rental of Montco Cultural Center spaces and/or events. Ensure compliance with all College policy and procedures, as well as reviews and updates policy and procedures to align with current best practices.
  • Develops, writes, and/or oversees contracts, in collaboration with the Director of Procurement to support cultural arts programs, artists, events, and facility usage.
  • Develops, plans, and implements marketing needs.Collaborates with the Strategic Communication and Enrollment Marketing Departments to develop marketing and promotion strategies for audience development and engagement. Develops annual plan; maintains appropriate mailing and digital lists; and conducts market research including audience preference testing and satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure strategic scheduling priorities for students and courses held in the Montco Cultural Center events physical spaces.
  • Collaborates with the College’s Foundation as well as the Grants Department to identify, write, and submit public and private grants. Implements fundraising plan with individuals, corporations, and foundations for gifts and sponsorships, placing specific emphasis on identifying, researching, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors.
  • Works collaboratively with Institutional Effectiveness to define assessment metrics. Develops and implements continuous improvement strategies for new and enhanced program development. Prepares and submits interim and final reports on metrics, budgets, audience engagement, student engagement, marketing, and other activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education/Training/Work Experience:
  • Master’s degree required, preferably in Arts Administration or Business Administration.
  • Experience working in higher education preferred.
  • A minimum of eight years of demonstrated progressive experience in managing programming such as performing arts, galleries, concerts, or large-scale (500 attendees) events/programming.
  • Experience with strategic planning, financial management, project management, collaborative partnership development with internal and external stakeholders, and development and reporting of accountability metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, ticketing software, College enterprise systems, and other job-related software/systems.
  • Specialized Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
