JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, perform a wide variety of complex and responsible technical functions and activities related to the Marketing & Communications Office; maintain and regularly update the College website and social media channels; assist with implementing the College marketing plans and ensuring consistent messaging/branding; design and develop promotional materials, digital advertisements, and other communications.
Example of Duties
Essential Functions : Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
Maintains and enhances MPC's overall web presence.
Serves as the primary contact for technical support and website updates.
Develops relevant, engaging digital and video content for MPC's website and social media channels consistent with the college's marketing objectives and brand standards.
Works with division, departments, and programs to enhance content, design and features for web pages.
Manages ADA compliance for the College website and other marketing media. Conducts accessibility audits for web content and documents through web governance tools and provides training and support for faculty and staff on best practices for accessibility for website and other promotional products.
Provides training for campus staff in campus design/marketing tools (such as Canva).
Monitors the College website and social media traffic, responds to feedback and implements content/design changes based on analytics.
Tracks engagement with and outcomes of various marketing activities.
Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns.
Works with the Director of Marketing & Communications to plan and prepare advertisements for television, radio, social media, and other mediums.
Creates images and graphic designs for paid advertisements and publications, including but not limited to class schedules, brochures, postcards, e-newsletters, mailers, and flyers by supporting preparation (format, layout, design, image manipulation, data input and print ready formatting).
Updates and maintains campus Video Display systems.
Schedules and takes photographs for use in marketing efforts as needed.
Maintains the College's digital asset management system.
Participates in planning and coordinating College marketing-related events, including events which can take place beyond working hours and on weekends.
Other Duties
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Participates on committees as required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Any combination of training and experience which would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed herein. For example, completion of approximately two years of college level coursework in website design and development, graphic arts and design program studies or a related field and two years of office administration experience providing advanced knowledge and skills in current and efficient office procedures and techniques.
Diversity:
Demonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to and appreciation for, the diverse academic, ethnic, socioeconomic, disability and gender diversity of students and staff attending or working on a community college campus.
Knowledge
Mastery of: Windows and MacOS computer applications; web content management systems to create, edit and publish digital content on websites and mobile platforms, graphic arts and digital design tools in the Adobe Creative Suite used for digital imaging editing, vector graphics creation, and page layout design/production (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
Knowledge of: basic HTML/CSS programming; basic principles and practices of journalism, publications, marketing, and communication; rules and regulations of news writing, editing and layout procedures; current office operations including project management, filing systems, and reporting; scanners and digital photography; office management techniques and procedures.
Abilities
Ability to:
Understand and independently carry out oral and written instructions;
Prioritize tasks and perform several tasks simultaneously;

Learn/communicate a wide variety of college information;
Use good judgment to provide appropriate information and assistance to the public, faculty, staff, and students;

Communicate effectively in both oral and written form;
Use MS Office/Google Suite, graphics and page layout software, and other software tools in an organized, consistent, and streamlined manner to optimize performance;
Successfully learn and use new software platforms and equipment as required to efficiently perform the duties of the job;
Use appropriate and correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation;
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
Desirable Qualifications (not required):
Bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design and media, journalism, or a related field
Experience developing multi-faceted, branded marketing campaigns for a variety of events, activities, and services
Demonstrated effectiveness with promoting and/or advertising services or products aimed at diverse audiences
Two (2) or more years' experience managing and supporting large institutional or higher education websites
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite for design and development (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Premiere)
Experience managing social media as a marketing tool
Experience working in a standardized content management system
Experience working with HTML/CSS and/or Javascript
Experience maintaining website accessibility to current WCAG and ADA standards
PHYSICAL EFFORT/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Sitting and operating computer keyboard for extended periods of time as necessary.
Light to moderate physical effort; occasional standing and walking; periodic handling of light-weight parcels of up to 15 pounds.
Indoor work environment.

40 hours per week/ 12 months per year

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, hours may vary
Salary
Starting Salary: $5,334 (Step A) - $5,889 (Step C) Monthly Salary Great benefits package.
