MAINTENANCE CLERK
SALARIED NON EXEMPT
About the Role: This role supports the operation by updating accurate and timely data of work orders and preventive maintenance of active equipment in the JDE Systems software, maintaining a sufficient supply of parts, and keeping the storeroom area neat and orderly.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Copies data, compiles and post reports and KPIs department weekly information.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with moderate supervision and direction.
- Understand and work with CMMS systems (JDE/Reports now ) to manage WOs and inventory control.
- Accurate count of inventory items; physically check parts bins weekly and monthly.
- Participate in the monthly cycle count process.
- Always observe and practice safety rules and wear the required PPE. (Steel toe shoes and bump caps are required in the Wharf area).
- Prepares weekly utility, water usage and maintenance accomplishment reports.
- Must have knowledge of parts books and how to use them.
- Must maintain storeroom and receiving area neat and orderly.
- Perform ordering by coordinating orders with the Purchasing Department.
- Comply and practice all requirements of Food Safety, sanitation, HACCP and GMP standards including hairnets, beard nets, and personal hygiene.
- Perform all other duties, which the Controller or Maintenance Manager may assign.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Assist with receiver duties.
- Assist Purchasing department as required.
- May travel in a company vehicle to pick up parts when necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
NONE.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- Regular on-site attendance
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to promote a positive and safe work environment.
- Verbal & written English skills are required for safety, equipment maintenance, and record management.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be able to successfully work in Word, Excel and Google.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Data Entry experience

- Handling: Continuous. While performing all tasks.
- Bending/Stopping: Occasional. Required at waist to pick up boxes, tills parts from the ground or lower shelves.

- Climbing: Continuous. To get to the work area and the parts room and when climbing ladders to get a part from top shelves.
- Fingering: Continuous. To record and write information on forms and data inputting.
- Feeling: Normal sensory perception is required to execute handling/fingering duties.

- Vision: Abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing –Abilities required perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Outdoor conditions in heat, cold, wind, high ammonia, dust, and mushroom spores. Inside conditions are often damp and wet. Floors are level concrete. Temperatures range between 33°F and 95°F.
Our plants operate at all times, and employees are expected to work assigned days and times. Work schedules for employees vary throughout our organization. Supervisors will inform employees or crews of their work schedules. Staffing needs and operational demands may necessitate variations in starting and ending times, as well as variations in the total hours that may be scheduled each day and week.
- This position has an indefinite number of hours as a part of the work schedule. It has no minimum/maximum number of hours/week.
- It also does NOT have a predetermined set of days off. Days off may be any day from Sunday to Saturday; they may not necessarily be consecutive.
- For internal applicants the employee’s prior conduct, safety and attendance record are all among the factors that are taken into consideration in addition to their work experience and skills. An applicant's supervisor may be contacted to verify performance, skills, and attendance.
