Schreiber Foundation – Deputy Director

Schreiber Foundation was founded by Monteith Construction Corp. and is seeking a Deputy Director.

The Schreiber Process:

  1. We recruit middle school boys who demonstrate superior need, ambition, ability, and character.
  2. We make a ten-year promise, to support them from middle school through college graduation.
  3. We do whatever it takes to replace barriers with opportunity.
  4. Through education, experience, and exposure, we support our students to achieve in middle and high school, while preparing them for the financial, social, and academic challenges of college and beyond.

What You’ll Do at Camp Schreiber:

  • Create Opportunity - Develop and lead exciting, experiential programming (e.g. workshops, college trips, special events).
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and initiatives.
  • Monitor program outcomes and impact, making data-informed decisions for improvement.
  • Case Management - Collaborate with the Director, tutoring staff, and participant families to facilitate weekly tutoring, including monitoring and maintenance of academic progress.
  • Connect students and alumni to resources that allow them to access a range of personal and professional development opportunities, including internship and job search support, skill-building, and ongoing educational and career guidance.

The Deputy Director will support Schreiber programming as needed in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board Chairman. The Deputy Director will be responsible for maintaining close relationships with students, families, and community partners.

Additional responsibilities include: (1) Assist with annual recruitment and onboarding of new students. (2) Provide college admissions and enrollment support in collaboration with Schreiber’s college counselor. (3) Assist with fundraising efforts, strategy, and processes, including writing grant proposals, assessing impact of new funding on current work, participating in funder calls, and developing relationships in the field. (4) Provide effective management and oversight of organizational operations, including budgeting, finance, human resources, and administration. (5) Build and maintain relationship and communication with Board of Directors.

Experience You Should Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience working with youth strongly preferred
  • Experience managing volunteers and/staff a plus
  • Event planning experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and with a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting
  • Graduate degree a plus
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy
  • Demonstrated belief in Schreiber’s mission and values
