Montefiore Medical Center is Hiring a FULL-TIME PROGRAM FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR Near Bronx, NY

Overview:

The principal goal of the Administrator is to coordinate the administration of all grant and contract funded activities in order to ensure that there is a seamless interface between the grant-funded and service contract funded programs and the general operations of theDivision of Community and Population Health, Department of Pediatrics at Montefiore Health System/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.The Administrator will report directly to theDivision Chief andwork closely with Divisional Senior Leadership and Department Research Director to coordinate fiscal and operational activities related to grant/research/service contract funding with the goals of each award or program. The Administrator's responsibilities include budget preparation and management of expenses, projecting finances, oversight of personnel cost allocations, new program planning and development, expansion of services, and oversight of federally funding service and research grants. The position is also responsible for compliance with regulatory and medical center standards.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Participate as a member of the Leadership Team with a focus on grant, contract, foundation and endowment program funding and operations.

  • Communicate with, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with administration, contracting agencies, funding organizations and benefactors.

  • Coordinate grant submissions, particularly budget and financial components, through Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

  • Administrative supervision of all Division staff which includes hirings, employee evaluations, discipline, training of all staff, maintenance of personnel records, monitoring of time and attendance.

  • Recommend revisions to grants and contracts and ensure execution of deliverables in a timely manner.

  • Oversee the pre- and post-award management of extramural grant funding for the Division. In conjunction with Leadership, coordinate grant proposals for federal and non-federal extramural funding and develop budgets and budget justifications. Manage expenses and allocation to awarded grants. Ensure all appropriate funding agency requirements are met.

  • Manage Division account transactions including fund starts and close-outs, cash flow projections, FTE allocations, updating global budgets, and expense transfers.

  • Manage activities for grant compliance including time and effort reporting. Prepare reports and communicate with faculty.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bacherlor's Degree required; MBA or similar degree preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in the operation of extramural funding of a multi-purpose division that supports clinical services, training, and research activities

  • Demonstrated competency with financial management of large budgets, supervision of personnel, and oversight of grant/contract expenses

  • Experience with grants and contracts management and reporting, including foundations, state (DOH), and federal (NIH, CDC)

  • Demonstrated knowledge in working with community groups and organizations who's intent is to improve access to healthcare for disadvantaged populations

  • Experience managing diverse teams of staff and faculty; Excellent communication and coordinating skills necessary

  • Excellent computer skills (i.e., Excel and finance management software), excellent mathematical skills, strong writing skills, excellent organizational skills

  • Experience with accounting preferred
