Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Technician to join our Weekend leadership team. As a Lead Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for providing excellent care and support to dogs, cats and exotic pets in our care. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about providing a high level animal and client care.
Duties:
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, medicating, and play schedules.
- Clean and maintain kennels, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with animal handling and restraint during during grooming or with our veterinary team.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
- Assist with customer service duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and providing information to pet owners
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pet care, animal care, or veterinary settings is preferred
- Knowledge of basic animal behavior and handling techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical stamina to handle animals of various sizes and lift heavy objects if necessary.
