Job Title: Early Childhood Learning Center Creative Movement Teacher Contract Period: Part-time, 10-month, faculty, salaried exempt Reports to: Principal of the ECLC Position Summary: Monte Cassino is an independent Benedictine Catholic School and seeks an Early Childhood Learning Center Creative Movement Teacher for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching creative movement within the framework of our physical education and arts programs to 3 year old, Pre-K and Kindergarten students Supporting the developmental and social-emotional needs of each student as necessary and with the aid of appropriate support personnel Attending department and faculty meetings and all-school professional development meetings Supervising students on the playground, in the hallway, dining hall, in the classroom, etc. Creating a positive classroom environment in which all children feel known and valued Collaborating with colleagues to design meaningful learning experiences Planning and preparing lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning Assessing student progress using a variety of formal and informal data collection tools and methods and providing feedback in a timely manner Managing student behavior in accordance with best practices Fostering communication and a respectful partnership with parents/guardians in conferences, during phone calls, and through written correspondence Communicating in a timely and efficient manner with parents, students, and colleagues Engaging in continuing professional growth and development, including staying abreast of best practices The desired candidate has: a minimum of three years teaching/coaching experience or sustained demonstrated experience working with children the personal traits for nurturing the growth of young children and working cooperatively with adults, including a passion and joy for working with young people, and an enthusiasm for learning demonstrates familiarity, ease, and openness with integrating technology into the classroom collaborates effectively with members of departmental teams and the ECLC faculty in general possess excellent problem solving, communication, and analytic skills exhibits a growth mindset, be creative and flexible, and demonstrate a sense of humor accepts constructive feedback as part of professional growth and development model professionalism and integrity at all times enjoys working with young children Physical Requirements: Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time Must be able to circulate among students in a classroom setting Must be able to move from classroom to classroom and from building to building as assigned or required by classroom assignment and activity of the day Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Occasionally required to work in poor weather conditions such as temperature, precipitation, and wind during recess and carpool duty How to apply: Monte Cassino is looking for an educator with experience in independent, Catholic, public, or charter schools.
