Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Supervisor directs, coordinates, and participates in all activities of the production department including but not limited to: processing materials, manufacturing products, inventory management, organizing production jobs, operating CNC & manual machines and more. The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for the proper execution of the manufacturing process in a timely manner ensuring accuracy and quality throughout each step in delivering customer orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

· Experience operating VMC/HMC (vertical and horizontal machine centers), CNC Lathes, EDM Machines, and ManualMachines.

· Understands G-Code & CAM software to produce effective and efficient machine programs when appropriate, following best-practice methods, employing standardized tools as much as possible and current SOP’s.

· Understands common measuring devices such as height gauge, bore mics, calipers etc.

· Plans daily/weekly production runs for all machines based off production orders while establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products to ensure delivery dates are achieved working with Operations Team. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

· Supervises all production, assembly, shipping and receiving personnel by constantly monitoring, coaching, critiquing the functioning, quality, and output of each area.

· Inspects machines, equipment and manages maintenance program(s) to ensure operational performance and optimum utilization.

· Works with Quality Control & Engineering as required to assure product quality is to the approved standard.

· Notifies Purchasing Agent and follows up on any unscheduled product needs or shortages or potential shortages.

· Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

· Makes recommendations to Operations Manager as necessary regarding machinery upgrades, repairs, or replacement and/or capital and non-capital expenditures for future planning.

· Assists in estimating the manufacturing cost of proposed new production or product changes when required.

· Ensures that all safety rules and regulations are followed.

· Computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 5 years or more of machinist duties and 4 years of increasingly responsible/manager related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Pay: $57,894.99 - $65,000.00 per year
