Montage Creek is Hiring an Activities Assistant Near Montrose, CO

The Vitality Assistant at Montage Creek supports whole-person wellness by encouraging participation in campus events and activities. This position assists with activities that enrich the mind, body, and spirit. Communicates the Vitality philosophy and the benefits of participating to staff and residents both verbally and by example. Complies with federal, state, and local regulations. Incorporates Generations' Mission, Vision, and Values into their work and interactions with others.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all activity and wellness programs to address the physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual needs of the residents.
  • Assisting with special events as part of a comprehensive Vitality program for all residents of the community.
  • Adjust work schedule as required to lead special events and activities, which will include some evenings and weekends.
  • Assist with the creation of and distribution of Vitality calendars, schedules, and newsletters. Coordinate with all staff with clear communication regarding Vitality activities.
  • Adhere to and support established HR policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills Required (Minimum qualifications):

Education and Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-year related experience in activities and/or wellness with older adults, preferably in the senior housing industry.
  • Current CPR certification, or to be completed within 30 days of hire.

Skills, knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.
  • Ability to motivate others and encourage participation in meaningful activities.
  • Functions as a team member and demonstrates leadership abilities
  • Computer competency required including Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work well and cooperate with others.
  • Ability to communicate with empathy and compassion
  • Ability to speak in public and articulate ideas clearly
  • Must be passionate about wellness and life enrichment for older adults

Physical Demands:

  • Workday - 8 hours, more when necessary
  • Stands - Often, for short periods
  • Sits - Often, for up to 3 hours
  • Walks - Often, around the community
  • Bends - Occasional
  • Stairs - Occasional, but not required
  • Climbs - Seldom
  • Lifts - Occasional up to 50#
  • Kneels - Seldom
  • Repetitive hand/foot - Seldom

Supervision:

  • Needs to be self-directed and possess the ability to make decisions. Works closely with all aspects of the business. Reports to the Executive Director.

Working Conditions:

Works indoors well-lit and well-ventilated office and occasionally outdoors. Works with others in the office and all departments directly.
