Monroe County, PA is Hiring a Deputy Sheriff Near Stroudsburg, PA

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking dedicated individuals with a passion for law enforcement to join our team as Deputy Sheriffs. This position reports to the Sheriff and will be responsible for court duties, traffic control, emergency response, public safety, & enforcement of all local and state codes within Monroe County, PA.

Minimum qualifications for the position are as follows:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess experience vocational/technical training in security, law enforcement, or a related field
  • Must possess one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving security, as a law enforcement patrol officer, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
  • Must possess a valid PA driver’s license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have resident status
  • Must pass and maintain certification requirements as a law enforcement officer in accordance with Pennsylvania Act 120 or Act II
  • Must obtain and maintain certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and first aid
  • Must be licensed and qualified to operate a firearm
