Job Description:

Function of Position:

Under supervision of Coordinator, Nursing Learning Center, the lab support personnelsets up bed labs and classrooms for instruction. Assists faculty members in preparation and implementation of conference and simulation. Assists students and faculty in the utilization of resources to ensure the smooth operation in the Nursing Learning Center.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

• maintaining knowledge of current program curriculum and familiarity with course resources
• reviewing nursing course outlines and all set-up guides
• setting up instructional materials and equipment for nursing conferences and simulations
• assisting with routine maintenance of environment and equipment, including classrooms, simulators, lab equipment and supplies
• assisting with department inventory control
• assisting students with equipment and access to open classroom space for studying
• performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Coordinator or Department Chair

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• Commitment to supporting and inclusive environment on campus.
• Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
• Unencumbered New York State RN or LPN license.
• Evident of effective communication skills (interpersonal, speaking, and writing).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years recent clinical experience
• Experience in an academic setting
• Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Additional Information:

MCC is currently testing a Pilot Telecommuting Program that runs from October 25th, 2021 to June 30th, 2023. Under the pilot program, this position may be eligible for remote work up to 5 days per pay period pending departmental need and leadership approval. The pilot program may be extended or terminated at any time at the College's discretion.
