    Granite Ridge School Monona Grove School District has an opening for a 1.0 FTE School Social Worker at Granite Ridge School. Position begins August 1, 2024.
    Overview: The Monona Grove School District is seeking a qualified School Social Worker to serve grades 3-5.
    Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with building staff to establish and maintain a positive mental health and behavioral culture in the school.
    • Communicate effectively with families, particularly as related to challenging student circumstances and issues.
    • Participate in a professional learning community; provide in-service training for other staff as appropriate.
    • Work closely with grade level, student services, and leadership teams in using data to plan interventions, programming, and advancing district priorities including ICS for Equity and Mental Health and Wellness.
    • Collaborate with school improvement teams.
    • Facilitate/participate in structured problem solving process.
    • Design and implement effective interventions for students, including consulting with and training of staff on monitoring fidelity of implementation.
    • Serve on school and district crisis response team.
    • Conduct small group and individual counseling and support the development and implementation of universal Social and Emotional Learning.
    • Consult with outside providers (medical professionals, therapists, etc.) on student needs.
    • Connect students/families with outside resources (county, community, etc.) as appropriate.
    • Develop community connections for families, including those families who are new to Cottage Grove.
    • Coordinate and lead Restorative Practices at the elementary school level.
    • Attend work regularly.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of the Department of Public Instruction Mental Health Framework.
    • Knowledge of and ability to analyze and present data at district, building and student levels.
    • Working knowledge of facilitating problem solving teams, determining interventions, and progress monitoring.
    • Understanding of equity as it relates to public education and one’s role in creating and maintaining equitable systems and practices.
    • Working knowledge of a Student Information System such as Infinite Campus.
    • Knowledge of common academic assessment instruments as well as universal screening and progress monitoring for student mental health.
    • Working knowledge of and experience with a Multi-Level System of Support, Social Emotional Learning, and Non Violent Crisis Intervention.
    • Passion for restorative justice and universal restorative practices.
    • Knowledge of and experience working with early elementary and Early Childhood Special Education preferred.
    • Understanding of and experience with coordinating services for students experiencing homelessness preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to others including students, parents, staff, and community.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
    • Motivated, intellectually curious, flexible and enthusiastic individual with a strong commitment to equity and social justice.
    • Ability to collaborate and learn with colleagues; be receptive to new ideas; take appropriate risks to implement best practices.
    • Lifetime learner with willingness to continually expand personal professional growth and development via conferences, education and collaboration.
    License Requirement
    • Valid WI Department of Public Instruction School Social Worker (7050) license, or ability to obtain license upon hire required
      • Early Childhood-Adolescence or;
      • Pre-kindergarten-Grade 12
