Inventory Control Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team charged with safely managing inventory and office administration activities for a multi-site operation. The qualified individual will encompass an understanding of food manufacturing operations in a multi-temperature environment and be the subject matter expert for inventory and data processing practices for these locations. This role will be expected to maintain operations consistent with Monogram’s budgeting process and utilize metrics to deploy a continuous improvement culture. This position reports directly to the Warehouse & Distribution Manager and is responsible for leading a team of up to 5 direct reports. This position will also have an indirect reporting line to the Materials & Inventory Control Manger who will act as a functional leader for Inventory Control Supervisor.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following: 

  • Promote and enforce a process-honoring culture while creating a safe work environment.
  • Oversee daily responsibilities of the Inventory Control Clerk/Auditors, Warehouse Clerks, and Logistics Specialists. 
  • Verify that all work processed is accurate, complete, and timely for all transactions.
  • Carry out cycle counting process for all inventory locations (plant and internal/external warehouses) both quarterly and as part of year end physical inventory counts.
  • Create and maintain documented processes for warehouse all transactions.
  • Train warehouse team in systems, tools, and processes with daily validation of the team.
  • Coordinate with scheduling, purchasing, production, quality, and warehousing partners to ensure production material requirements are met daily.
  • Monitor close coded, QA hold, or other SLOB inventories (both raw and finished goods) along with weekly reporting on status.
  • Ensure all physical inventory is marked or otherwise labeled appropriately while also maintaining the proper inventory/batch status flag in ERP/WMS/IMS.
  • Enforce proper FEFO stock rotation of all raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods both held internally and externally.
  • Review, investigate, and process all OS&D claims from sales order shipments and/or receipts from vendors. 
  • Manage the weekly customer order shipment report identifying sales orders, scheduled ship dates and actual ship dates flagging to customer service all orders not shipped in full or on time.
  • Administer CHEP pallet activity and ensure CHEP pallet inventory is accurate.
  • Coordinate with R&D, Procurement, and other functional stakeholders on the arrival, storage, and requisition of trial or sample materials.
  • Maintain all non-inventory items with an active list of items and on hand quantities.
  • Work closely with team members, supervisors, and management to perform root cause analysis to identify opportunities to improve overall data and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:

  • A.S degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading and developing high performing teams.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing inventory control and office operations in a multi-temperature food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, communication skills, analytical capabilities, and customer service experience desired.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a keen sense of urgency required.
  • Comfortable with developing and presenting out topics to various groups including leadership.
  • Motivated, self-starter, able to work independently and make fact-based decisions/recommendations.
  • Able to see the bigger picture and work collaboratively with other business partners to accomplish the common goal.
  • Proficient with WMS/IMS, MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel preferred, Power BI desirable) and ERP systems (MS D365 preferred).
  • Additional experience/training in process improvement (Six Sigma or other technique), critical problem solving, and project management desired.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older
