Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our growing Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team of 18 as a Corporate Health and Safety Specialist.
As a Corporate Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting a safe and compliant work environment for our 12 manufacturing facilities. This position is ideal for recent graduates from a related degree program or individuals with limited experience who are eager to grow in the field of Environmental, Health, and Safety. With positive performance, training, and development, this individual will have promotional opportunities in environmental, health, and safety management at one of our additional Monogram Foods facilities.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary manager of all corporate health & safety procedures. Manage annual procedure update schedule, and distribution and communication of procedure updates.
  • Administration, support and training for our electronic EHS data management system.
    • Primary liaison to 3rd party system partner.
    • Manage security settings and user access.
  • Manage environmental and safety training content for our electronic learning system, in coordination with 3rd party system partner.
    •  Develop customized content including voice-overs.
  • Serve as a member of Sustainability Committee. Liaison with 3rd plants to coordinate sustainability metrics and data.
  • Assist in management of internal “intranet” safety & health presence.
  • Submit all BLS and OSHA required annual data and statistics submissions for all sites.
  • Update, distribute and communicate monthly operations proactive deliverables, and plant “message board” content.
  • Travel to sites to assist with projects, training, onboarding.
  • Support sites with development and tracking of annual site safety plans.
  • Support sites with implementation of Monogram “Safety STAR” safety management system.
  • Partner in development and distribution of monthly and annual statistical reporting to the organization.
  • Support and facilitation of Contractor Safety pre-qualification and project safety requirements.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in manufacturing environment in safety & health.
• Experience working with electronic EHS data management systems.

Competencies and Skills:
• Outstanding communications and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities and deadlines
• Strong computer systems skills including PowerPoint, Excel and EHS data management systems
• Maintain understanding and knowledge of current Federal, State and industry consensus standards (ISO, ANSI, NFPA, NEC)
• Understanding of engagement-based Safety Management Systems (such as ANSI Z10, ISO 45001, OSHA VPP, etc.)
• Possess or plan to earn professional safety certification(s) – (CSP, SMS, OHST, etc.)
• Root Cause Analysis
• Ability to travel to manufacturing sites approximately 10%
• Ability to work in professional office environment, as well as manufacturing environments
• Valid U.S. driver’s license
• Must be minimum 18 years of age

Physical Demands:
• Verbal communications every day
• Ability to access all areas of working locations in manufacturing plants (including roof, ladder platforms, etc.)
