Monkee-Boy is Hiring a SEO Specialist (Part Time) Near Austin, TX

Monkee-Boy is looking for a proven SEO pro to assist our organization and its clients generate brand awareness and qualified leads from search engines.

We need a team player who can get things done, wants to learn and grow as a marketer, and is driven by achieving excellent results. The right candidate is expected to work as a key digital marketing team member that plans, creates, executes, measures, and continuously improves upon our integrated digital marketing initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

To be successful in this position, you should be able to perform the following job functions accurately and professionally in a fast-paced environment:

  • SEO Strategy Planning—develop measurable optimization strategies that improve search engine rankings for targeted keywords and attract more target audience members to the website.

  • Monitoring Analysis—regularly monitors SEO performance metrics for several clients, analyzes that information and makes data-driven recommendations for improvement.

  • Local SEO—understand the ranking factors that most impact local search rankings and how to optimize them to help local organizations reach more prospective clients.

  • On-Site Optimization—optimize key elements of the website to help search engines understand the topic of each page and recognize the website as a valuable resource.

  • Off-Site Optimization—improve the website’s authority metrics which are typically the result of how other high-quality and relevant websites link to or talk about your website or brand.

  • Keyword Topic Research—perform ongoing keyword topic research to identify the phrases and relevant topics that will help our clients achieve their SEO objectives.

  • Website Maintenance—make regular edits, load content, and create new web pages for customer websites using WordPress CMS.

  • Analytics Reporting—collect and analyze relevant marketing data to help inform data-driven marketing decisions and create reports that will help stakeholders better understand the impact SEO activities have on their businesses.

  • Team Support—assist and support team members as needed to balance the workload and provide a positive customer experience.

Qualifications & Skills

To be considered for this position, applicants should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education—an associate’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or related field (or equivalent professional experience) is required.
  • Experience—the desired experience levels in the specific disciplines necessary for success in this position are listed below:
    • Digital Marketing—at least two (2) years of digital marketing experience, with a “big-picture” understanding of how different marketing channels can work together to achieve business objectives.
    • SEO—at least two (2) years of professional experience working on SEO initiatives, understanding how underlying concepts such as technical factors, on-page off-page elements, local SEO, competition and content can impact strategy and results.
    • Customer Service Communication—at least one (1) year of professional experience in customer service or managing successful client relationships on an ongoing basis.
    • Analytics and Reporting—at least one (1) year of professional experience establishing meaningful KPIs, collecting the appropriate data to report accurately, and analyzing the data to provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
    • SEO Software Tools—experience using SEO software (Semrush, Moz Pro, BrightLocal, Sitebulb, etc.) and Google tools (Google Search Console, Google Business Profiles (GBPs), Google Analytics, LookerStudio, etc.) to manage multiple internal and client initiatives as part of a larger team.
  • Quality Work Product—must be driven to produce high-quality marketing deliverables that achieve (or exceed) the client’s desired marketing outcomes.
  • Communication Skills—must have strong written and oral communication skills that can concisely and accurately make your point to different audiences.
  • Continuous Learning—the desire to continuously improve digital marketing knowledge by pursuing development opportunities and seeking feedback from colleagues to improve performance.
  • Teamwork—a collaborative mindset that encourages a positive team atmosphere by being objective and open to others' viewpoints while putting team success above individual contributions.
  • Professionalism—performs well under pressure, accepts responsibility for one's own actions, and contributes to a professional company image in the workplace and at client meetings.
