Momentive Performance Materials 1015 is Hiring a Remote Chemical Operator

Job Title: Chemical Operator Summary: Duties of the Chemical Operator position include the operation of manufacturing process equipment, packaging finished products and general labor throughout the facility. This position assists operators and crafts as necessary and assigned, with increasing responsibility for operations and product quality. Responsibilities Include: Area-specific task requirements as outlined on the job/task qualification documents. Work/train anywhere in the area operation as assigned, including assisting with production. Properly fill, label, and position all hazardous and non-hazardous waste in identified storage/pickup areas. Perform housekeeping to ensure area safety and maintain audit-ready condition. Complete equipment clean-outs/turnarounds as required to ensure proper operation. Follow all standard operation and business procedures, safety, environmental, and quality guidelines, plant standards, and codes of conduct. Communicate with area Leadership regarding any production, product quality, or safety issues as they arise. Participate in area and business improvement activities, quality, mechanical integrity, and environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance activities. Knowledgeable of OSHA standards and safe work practices. Attend leadership and skills training courses as offered. Demonstrated ability to drive a forklift truck. Properly operate all equipment according to batch sheets, Part V procedures, SOP’s, Engineering Note and/or Manufacturing Instructions Properly process all batch sheets to allow for on-time production, quality checks and accurate inventory. Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, snow removal, LOTO activities, and reviewing night notes. Qualifications: The following are required for the role Employees in this position are expected to train and become certified on all Chemical Operator tasks in certification area and then become trained on the next highest position in the area so that they can provide coverage for vacancies and be ready for promotions. Employees must meet respiratory protection program requirements applicable to area to be eligible for consideration. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodation Must have the assets needed to become OSHA certified on the job as required by OSHA 1910.119 PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing is required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasional lifting, moving up to 50 lbs., and the ability to comply with Personal Protective Equipment requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations). The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment.
