The Headlines:

In the role of an Instrumentation Controls Electrician working at the Coors Brewery in Golden, Colorado, you will be part of the Plant Technical Services team, working at our Lower valley Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants (Municipal / Industrial Wastewater Treatment). Our utilities team is the lifeblood that keeps our brewery going.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and reliability of our water treatment assets. These plants not only services the Brewery and our Lower Valley Plants, but also services City of Golden. The reliability of these assets ensures that we can be responsible stewards of our community and achieve our water & wastewater discharge permits.

Candidates must have the necessary experience, aptitude, and education to support our water treatment facilities through performance of electrical duties such as:

  • Must be able to minimize equipment downtime using effective and efficient multi-craft, troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure with the skills required to analyze and solve problems and implement technical solutions. Able to make accurate decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a Qualified Electrical worker, and willing to maintain this status.
  • At least 5 years as Electrical / Controls Technician in and industrial setting.
  • Read and red Line electrical drawings and P&ID’s.
  • Performs all work in a safe manner demonstrating proper use of safety equipment at all times.

It is also important that you can assure customer satisfaction through identifying, as an individual and as a member of a work unit, the internal and external customers; jointly determine customer needs and means of measurement to deliver mutually agreed upon products/services. Continually investigate methods to improve customer satisfaction to achieve the ultimate goal of quality relationships. Must be capable of working in a team-oriented environment.

The Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate problems and generate options to find actionable practical solutions as well as acting as a resource for operational and maintenance teams when electrical/control issues occur.
  • Perform set-up, adjustment, timing, troubleshooting, replacement and programming of electrical equipment with some minor mechanical work as well
  • Perform Electrical, Electrical Controls, and Instrumentation Control duties and some mechanical duties such as set-up, adjustment, calibration, tuning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance inspections and overhauls.
  • Dismantle, inspect and rebuild electrical assemblies to insure conformance to specifications or production requirements.
  • Systems supported by this role include the Water & Wastewater plant’s electrical distribution, water & wastewater systems, Chemical feeds.
  • This role works a “5x2” schedule which consists of 5 consecutive 9.3-hour days, followed by Sat-Sun days off. No rotation required; this is a Day shift position that maybe also called upon during off shift breakdowns.

The Other Qualifications:

  • Industrial Journeyman level or on-the-job experience with heavy industrial Electrical, Electrical Controls, Instrumentation and PLC’s. You must also be proficient troubleshooting electrical controls, PLC programs and processor-based program/diagnostic panels. Experience with program/software such as PanelView, iFix, Delta V or other similar distributive control systems may also be required
  • You are serious about, and take pride in a proven track record of delivering results
  • You have a high school diploma or a GED
  • You are at least 21 years of age
  • As part of the recruitment process, the candidates will be required to provide consent to complete a background check.
