Role Description

The Distribution Strategy Student Professional will work very closely across multiple areas with the specific aim of transforming our distribution network footprint to reduce dependency in over-the-road transportation, help identify value propositions from leveraging rail and intermodal directly to distributors, identify and maximize the use of cross-docks that will reduce our internal plant stock movements, and ultimately deliver improvements in customer service and distribution cost /unit. He/She will work with our network modelers, Regional Transportation Managers and distribution analysts to identify and prepare the execution plan for a change in mode of transportation.

In addition, the Distribution Strategy Student Professional will help stand the 3PL model for Seltzer working closely with our breweries’ Operations Managers, Partner Services and Innovation team to ensure successful execution.

Work Schedule

Standard office working day from Monday to Friday; however, will accommodate schedule to coincide with classes.

Responsibilities

  • Transportation Mode Optimization:
    • Identification of specific lane opportunities to change transportation modes
    • Data analytics related to understanding financial benefits of different transportation modes for specific lanes
    • Proposing transportation mode opportunities and quantifying benefits
  • 3PL Model:
    • Development of business process flow for load planning and route-planning from our product co-manufacturers to distributors to minimize multiple product movements
    • Documenting process developed in SOP, and deployment

Qualifications / Skills:

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or have U.S. permanent work authorization; must be 21 years of age or older. Majors Considered: Supply Chain and Logistics Management, Business Management, Engineering and Accounting. 3.0 GPA or above is required. This internship experience will be located in Milwaukee, WI.

  • Familiarity with structured problem tools useful but not mandatory
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (Yellow or Green) PREFFERED.
