Mohs Histotechnologist

Seeking experienced Mohs Histotech to join our Mohs practice.
Full time position, no travel required. Competitive pay, benefits, 401K. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Mohs office required.

Requirements:

• Two (2) years Histotech experience in a MOHS surgery practice required.

• Ability to maintain compliance with CLIA & QA/QC guidelines.

• Must be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, maintain & organize high-volume, high-quality sectioning and staining frozen sections.

• Must maintain excellent communication skills, with the physician and Mohs team.

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for usual Mohs Histotech duties including; embeds, cuts and stains tissue to produce high quality histologic slides quickly, and accurately for microscopic diagnosis by Mohs Surgeon.

• Prepares tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis, including H&E staining.

• Cover slip microscopic slides to retain their integrity and be reviewed by Mohs Surgeon.

• Responsible for overseeing the Mohs Lab including maintenance logs, ordering adequate supplies, maintaining reagents and stains in compliance with OSHA and CLIA guidelines.

• Maintains and operates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and procedures.

• Responsible for maintaining Mohs logs, Quality Control, Procedural Manuals, and filing of slides.

• Demonstrates knowledge of quality, safety, and compliance programs.

• Creates post op letters to referring physicians on daily basis.

• Must possess excellent customer service skills, good organizational skills, and pay attention to detail. Must be dependable. In addition, must be able to prioritize work and be a team player.

• Take initiative to perform other tasks and assist others as necessary.
