Mohawk Valley Health Systems is Hiring a Supervisor PET Technology Near Utica, NY

Job Summary

The Supervisor of PET (Positron Emission Tomography) Technology is a working team member who will be responsible for overseeing the operation of PET imaging equipment, ensuring quality control, and managing technologists to deliver exceptional patient care. As a technologist, this role will perform a variety of technical procedures that require minimum independent judgement and initiative in the utilization of Nuclear Medicine for the diagnosis of disease.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of PET imaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and uptime as well as high quality exams and procedures.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of PET technologists, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Manage scheduling and workflow to optimize efficiency and patient throughput.
  • Responsible for complete patient health histories and documentation using the PACS system.
  • Responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements and safety protocols related to PET imaging in accordance with NYS DOH (New York State Department of Health) and ACR (American College of Radiology) standards.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable PET imaging results.
  • Ensure quality control checks are performed on all nuclear medicine equipment.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper patient care and accurate interpretation of PET scans.
  • Stay updated on advancements in PET imaging technology and recommend equipment upgrades or improvements as needed.
  • Keep leadership informed of any issues or concerns.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • Satisfactory completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a PET Technologist.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, guide and motivate others.
  • Strong customer service orientation, positive attitude and highly self-motivated.


PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or related field.
  • 5 years full time or equivalent Nuclear Medicine experience

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) and/or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
