Technical Assistant - Metal Machining (PT)

Salary: $18.00 per hour

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a part-time Metal Machining Technical Assistant in our School of STEM-Career. The Technical Assistant will assist the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist Technology faculty in all aspects of running an educational metal machine lab.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Assists faculty during laboratory and ensures adherence to proper safety protocols;
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs on laboratory machines;
• Trains/instructs students on the proper use of trade equipment and the development of required skills;
• Maintains material inventories in accordance with College standards;
• Other duties as assigned by the Technical Assistant or faculty.

Successful candidate must be available to work up to 29 hours per week.

Qualifications:

Certificate in metal machining / computer numerical control (CNC) technology from an accredited program with at least one (1) year experience, or an Associate degree in metal machining/CNC technology.
