LINESOF AUTHORITY:
Thisposition is supervised by a Children's Clinical Site Supervisor. Unlessexpressly identified, this position does not supervise any other staff.
POSITIONSUMMARY:
Providesoutpatient treatment for children and their families within the context of asystem of care which includescollaboration with internal and external supports and resources.
PRINCIPALDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides individual, group and family therapy in avariety of settings, to a diverse caseload of children and their families.
- Develops with the client and family an integrated BehavioralHealth Service Plan (BHSP) which identifies measurable goals and objectivesdeveloped by the child, family and their team and identifies the treatment andservices to be provided.
- Assesses the client and family on a continuous basis,plans for discharge, monitors progress towards goals, and completes progressand case notes with every contact.
- Assists the family in identifying and utilizing formaland informal community supports with the assistance of other agency staff.
- Develops clear, concise behavioral plans which utilizethe Child/Family Team Process in providing training or support to the clientand/ or the family.
- Develops and maintains with the child and family team,a crisis safety plan as evidenced by the plan being in the clinicalrecord.
- Maintains client records in compliance with MohaveMental Health Clinic, Inc., State, HCIC and Joint Commission standards.
- Adheres to current best practice standards to ensureappropriate care.
- Assists in crisis coverage.
- The employee must work well under pressure meetingmultiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines. The employee shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior withcolleagues and supervisors.
- Provides customer service to internal and externalcustomers and stakeholders.
- Participates in the Performance Improvement Processesin the Clinic.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Able to effectively de-escalate clients usingtechniques as trained and outlined in approved crisis intervention models.

POSITIONREQUISITES:
Required:
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, or arelated field.
- Licensed by the Arizona Board of BehavioralHealth Examiners
- Experience in providing mental heath counselingto a broad range of clients.
- Knowledge of family systems and familydynamics.
- Knowledge of DSM IV diagnosis and treatmentskills.
- Valid Arizona driver's license.
- Arizona fingerprint certified or the ability toobtain a class one certification
- 21 years of age

SUBSTANCE USE
Staff responsible for providingservices to substance using members have appropriate training, education, andexperience, and demonstrate competency.
Staff must be able to gather andassess information about:
- The relationship of each member's physicalstatus to the substance use.
- The nature of the emotional compulsion to usealcohol and/or other drugs.
- The intensity of the member's preoccupation withusing alcohol/and/or other drugs.
Staff must also demonstratecompetency in their ability to:
- Interpret information about a member's use ofalcohol and/or other drugs.
- Develop a written summary and/or treatment planbased on member's problems and needs;
- Provide appropriate services.
CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS
Staff responsible for providingservices to child and adolescent members have appropriate training, education,and experience, and demonstrate competency.
- Staff demonstrated knowledge of growth anddevelopment of children and adolescents.
- Staff demonstrates their ability to developtreatment plans and services based on member's problem and needs.
- Staff demonstrates knowledge and skill inworking with family systems.
SERIOUSLY MENTALLY ILL
Staff responsible forproviding services to seriously mentally ill members have appropriate training,education, and experience, and demonstrate competency.
- Staff has knowledge and ability to gather andinterpret information about seriously mentally ill people.
- Staff understands the member's needs and therange, intensity, and duration of care, habilitation and rehabilitationrequired.
INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED
Staff responsible for providingservices to members with intellectual disabilities have appropriate training,education, and experience, and demonstrate competency.
- Staff have knowledge and ability to gather andinterpret information about a member with an intellectual disability.
- Staff understand the member's needs and therange, intensity, and duration of care, habilitation or rehabilitationrequired.
