Moffitt Cancer Center is Hiring a MGR Sponsored Projects Admin Near Tampa, FL

Position Highlights:
  • This position is responsible for overseeing fiscal compliance and administration for Sponsored projects (grants and contracts) agreements received by the Cancer Center.
  • The position is responsible for developing and effectively implementing sound policies and procedures to ensure fiscal accountability over the use of Sponsored project funds.
  • The position will take lead in the planning and execution of the Office of Management and Budget Uniform Guidance Audit (Single Audit), as well as other site visits as applicable.
  • This position is also responsible for ensuring that the Sponsored Projects are properly established in the Cancer Center's ERP system to ensure the appropriate revenue recognition, billing and collection of accounts receivables.
  • The position will assist the Accounting and Financial Analysis teams with Sponsored Projects financial analysis, reserves relating to receivables, as well as other reporting needs.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • The ideal candidate will have previous Sponsored Projects administration experience as a Lead or Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages the Sponsored Projects team responsible for executing specific tasks and processes to ensure fiscal compliance
    • Develops staffing models and time studies including productivity monitoring and tracking to ensure work is efficient and innovative. 
    • Develops and supports a team culture that encourages team work, collaboration and positivity among the Senior Financial Analysts for Sponsored Projects (SPA). 
    • Develops department procedures and processes. 
    • Determine measures of success and ensure data exists to measure and track.
    • Share metric performance frequently to ensure transparency and collaborative to problem solve areas for improvement. 
  • Develop and maintain departmental processes and procedures to ensure fiscal compliance with Sponsored Projects terms and conditions
    • Ensures that there are effective procedures in place to ensure that Lawson activities are used to appropriately record award expenses, revenue, billing and collections according to Sponsor terms and conditions and Accounting requirements. As well as accurate and timely reporting to Sponsors. 
    • Ensures that the team is aware of regulatory requirements governing Federal grants contracts, State, and other funding sources.
    • Ensures that there are effective processes for high risk Sponsored project compliance items e.g. subrecipient monitoring, Cost transfers (labor and non-labor) 
    • Works with Systems support team within Research Finance to improve efficiency with processes and data analysis.
  • Maintains knowledge of rules and regulations governing Federal and State Sponsored Projects.
    • Keeps current with regulations to ensure processes are updated as needed to address regulatory changes. Works collaboratively with peers across the Cancer Center as appropriate.
  • Annual Single Audit
    • The manager will ensure that departmental processes and procedures are designed and executed according to the requirements established in the OMB's Uniform Guidance as well as Florida Single Audit Act.
Credentials and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Field of Study: Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of eight (8) years progressive Sponsored Projects administration, and or previous experience in auditing or leading the planning of audits from an auditee perspective.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a project lead, supervisory or management role within a business and/or financial analysis department is required.
