Moffitt Cancer Center is Hiring a Chaplain Catholic Priest (PRN) Near Tampa, FL
- To provide pastoral care and counseling to Catholic patients, family members and others as needed.
- To provide religious ministry of word and sacrament to Catholic patients, their families and others as needed.
- To work collaboratively with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- To communicate accurately, clearly and in a timely manner, both verbally and in written materials.
- To function as a team member of the Department of Chaplaincy Care.
- To record daily work into the Pastoral Care Activity Reporting System (PCARS).
- To perform duties of on-call after hours, on weekends and holidays when scheduled.
- The ideal candidate will have the following:
- One (1) or more units of CPE
- Ordination as a Catholic Priest
- Master’s Degree in Theology (Divinity)
- Faculties with the Diocese of St. Petersburg
- 2 or more years’ experience in a setting such as, but not limited to, hospital, hospice, long-term care facility; religious institution, center of worship
- Provide Spiritual Assessment and counseling to Catholic patients, families and staff.
- Provide the Sacrament of the Sick for Catholic patients as appropriate.
- Support patients' rights by considering psychosocial, spiritual and cultural variables influencing perceptions of illness.
- Document work clearly and accurately so that chaplain colleagues and other disciplines caring for the Catholic patients are aware of the services and sacraments that have been provided.
- Visit Catholic patients on the list that is provided from the Patient Directory.
- Respond to referrals when scheduled to be in-house.
- Maintain all mandatory education, occupational health requirements, and any other required activity of all Moffitt employees.
- Master’s Degree in Theology (Divinity)
- Ordination as a Catholic Priest
- Faculties with the Diocese of St. Petersburg
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a setting such as, but not limited to, hospital, hospice, long-term care facility; religious institution, center of worship
- Evidence of understanding of diverse populations
