Position's Contributions to Work Group:
- s an IT Project/Program Manager 4, you will work with the Application Program Management Team of Cat Digital and manage project teams to build software solutions that integrate common services across our application portfolio and other enterprise systems used by Caterpillar customers and dealers. This role will specifically be working on the Integrated User Experience portfolio. The integration of applications with various Digital Platform capabilities that are built on the latest technologies by adopting industry's best architecture patterns, security best practices etc. are critical for application's success and its adoption.

Typical task breakdown:
- The IT Project/Program Manager 4 is accountable for ensuring successful completion of projects, on-time, within budget, and error-free. The principal responsibility of the IT Project/Program Manager is to manage the planning and execution of project team members. The IT Project/Program Manager will be responsible for managing the project charter, communications, metrics, reporting, and the overall project plan and budget. Support various project teams and obtain/provide a variety of information starting at concept stage and continuing through prototype, pilot, implementation and follow-up stages of various projects ••Develop and produce project management schedules. Use professional project management tools and techniques to manage reporting, tracking charts, checklist, and project scheduling software and to delegate appropriately. ••Manage change and take active leadership in timely decision making. Manage schedules that reflect detailed information related to the changes, including effected components and functions, timelines for various stages of project completion, cost, etc. ••Will work with the individual team members from multiple functional disciplines and customers to establish completion dates. Monitor progress of projects, discusses problems with affected areas, assures appropriate personnel are informed of problem and steps are in place to meet schedules. ••Depending on nature of problems, expected to recommend possible solutions and alternatives.
Interaction with team:
- Working with product owners (both engineering and technical) for each project. Managing multiple teams, working with multifunctional team members across the business and engineering. Working on 2-3 projects at a given time. Volume: varies from 8 - 10 projects annually, or based on agile sprint frequency Complexity: challenging to very challenging
Work environment:
- 100 % remote, working with global team members. Will be working on both existing projects and helping teams start projects from the ground up.
Education & Experience Required:
- The position requires a 4 year college or university degree or certification that is equivalent and 8 years exp
- Or Master's degree in relevant field (ie Engineering, business, etc) plus 6 years exp
- Desired: *Certified Scrum Master (CSM) *PMP certification *SAFe certification *Change Management Certification
Technical Skills
(Required)
- 6 years of direct project management experience working with software engineering teams in an Agile Software Development methodology.
- Proven experience with project management concepts including project charters, scheduling and planning projects and successful completion - needs to have the ability to walk teams through the creation of project charters, including determining scope, ways of working etc.
- 3 years exp with Azure DevOps (formerly VSTS)
- 2 years working exp with Aha!
- dvanced knowledge of Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project
- Experience in large organizational change management
(Desired)
- Working experience with UX teams and processes.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) *PMP certification *SAFe certification *Change Management Certification *Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- Some Scrum Master exp in addition to the required project management exp.
- Experience having worked with large enterprise level organizations.
