The role

The position of VP Revenue will oversee the global revenue function, and play a crucial role on the executive leadership team. As a strategic thought partner, the VP Revenue will work closely with the CEO to drive go-to-market performance and new market expansion. We are seeking a dynamic leader who can provide operational and strategic direction, identify opportunities and issues, and communicate proactively to drive effective solutions. 

You will be responsible for

  • Developing a short and long-term growth strategy that aligns with Modo Energy’s global vision and goals. 
  • Building, managing and mentoring our go-to-market and post sales teams and helping them over-perform against plan.
  • Forecasting revenue, and tracking critical KPIs and sales metrics.
  • Fostering relationships and strategic partnerships within the renewable energy ecosystem, discovering new market opportunities and revenue streams.
  • Developing and implementing short and long-term strategic objectives, recommending initiatives to enhance revenue performance and business opportunities.
  • You’ll be a member of the Executive Leadership Team, building a valuable and sustainable business. You're expected to role model and promote our values, principles and culture and contribute to building an amazing place to work that attracts and retains the very best talent, and ensures that they can thrive.

About you

  • Proven track record driving growth and scaling the revenue function within a high growth SaaS business. We want to see success at different company stages, particularly if you can show us success taking a company from <$5m ARR to >$50m.
  • Demonstrable success in building and managing revenue teams, spanning sales, marketing, account management and customer success. 
  • Passion for SaaS. At Modo Energy, we’re all-in on SaaS, and we want you to be too. We also want to see demonstrated expertise leveraging product-led-growth to drive new business opportunities.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach to addressing complex challenges. You have to be excited to roll up your sleeves, to wear different hats, and to lead from the front - be actively engaged in front line sales, jump on the phones, get stuck in- You’ll be a great fit if you can comfortably manage ambiguity and establish structure in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • High level of proficiency in revenue metrics and reporting, with a demonstrated ability to build accurate and predictable forecasts (without relying on the operations team).
  • Strong background in selling to enterprises - ideally something that isn’t IT or software (for example, could be energy, utilities, research/data, government services). Ideally, this experience will be global - you have sold in multiple geographies and can manage teams spanning different time zones.
  • Exceptional team leadership skills, with a proven ability to inspire, motivate, and guide high-performing teams.
  • Belief in our mission. We are accelerating the transition to renewable energy by building a new world of decision-making for energy assets.
