For more information about Modine, visit www.modine.com.Position Description:This position will serve as the champion for 80/20 activities across the Power Generation Business Unit. Utilizing the 80/20 philosophy to facilitate the development and execution of business strategy, this role will create momentum, success, and sustainability within the business.To excel in this role, you should have the ability to effectively lead and influence teams to drive priorities across all functions of the business. You should be resourceful, analytical, adaptable, and organized with the ability to build rapport with colleagues.Key Responsibilities:
  • 80/20 Process Leader – BU
    • Introduce the 80/20 process & lead training sessions across all levels of the Business Unit
    • Collaborate with business leaders on goal setting and connect 80/20 practices with employee involvement and operational objectives
    • Organize brainstorming and benchmarking events that help identify strategic opportunities
    • Identify simplification opportunities with customers, products, components, processes, and capabilities
    • Promote allocating resources and funding towards strategic core customers, products, capabilities, and partners while exiting or outsourcing the non-strategic.
    • Promote separation of 80’s from the 20’s while steering lean operational excellence initiatives to the 80’s.
    • Develop performance metrics/dashboards to monitor 80/20 progress across the business unit
    • Aid the collection and verification of 80/20 data sets on a quarterly basis
    • Analyze 80/20 data sets to ensure estimated costs for future business align with current cost structure
    • Ensure a robust margin spread review performed and clear cutoffs are established for A’s and B’s with margin requirements for customers and products. Requires pricing management and product rationalization.
    • Support 80/20 projects with key leaders to support overall development of 80/20 leaders into the Business Unit.
 
  • Global Market Strategy - BU Collaboration
    • Manage the development and execution of the strategic initiatives; new services, products or offerings for the BU
    • Identify, evaluate, and track M&A opportunities to improve competitive position, enhance our right to win, improve diversification or accelerate growth
    • Build and facilitate business case and scenario planning models tied to organic strategic growth priorities and/or strategic cost or margin improvement initiatives
    • Stay on top of rapidly evolving industry trends
    • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on competitive threats affecting the business
    • Lead market assessment activity to identify potential new markets for business exploration
    • Responsible for the market data consolidation & communication cadence
    • Collaborate / Develop / Create Power Generation marketing communication and information
General Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization including written, verbal and presentation techniques
  • Thought leadership on procurement acumen in the long term strategic plan for each sub vertical
  • Oversite and ownership of the strategic relationships with the ACA supply base
Required Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of experience in Finance, Sales/Marketing, Engineering, Business Development or Strategic roles; Management experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams through complex projects
  • Experience in training related to 80/20 processes and leading teams through 80/20 journey
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
  • Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive problem solving
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical analysis software
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Science, Marketing, or related field; Engineering is preferred
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration desired
Travel:
  • As needed – estimate 15 - 25% of the time
